INTRODUCTION……

I’m a 60’s lady, that’s what I am. I hate that I am ‘getting on a bit’ but I’m glad I was around to enjoy the 60’s. I suppose records will just say we were a free-thinking generation who took drugs, but we were more than that.
We didn’t just burn our bra’s and take Contraceptive pills, we were totally alive, on the ball, we brought you colour TV, The MINI Minor, the mini skirt, FRANK SINATRA, the BEATLES, ELVIS PRESLEY, Spaghetti Bolognese, MacDonalds and Pizzas. We invented package holidays, and we all went to IBZIA, COSTA BRAVA and the SOUTH of FRANCE…I could go on, but I won’t!
A couple of years ago I wrote my memoir, like one does, and for me it was very therapeutic. It didn’t sell very well. It would be better as a TV programme. I have decided to pick some of the stories that made the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s so special. A book of gossip from those times and hopefully you will understand my generation a little better.
My life so far has been amazing, bloody awful, very funny, full of love affairs mostly ending in tears but interesting, I think. You may not think so but let me tell you that I bet you don’t know many people who have lived through WW2 and lived to tell this tale………so check this out.
When I left school, I was encouraged to go to business collage. It was thought that as I was so dumb, I could become a secretary and marry the boss…that was the aim in those days, pretty girls married the boss. End of the story BUT I changed that and decided to prove how girls like me could make a difference.
I became a top model and travelled the world, opened one of the first BOUTIQUES in London. Sold to all the major stores in NEW YORK. Worked with MARY QUANT and in Paris with YVES ST LAURENT, COCO CHANNEL.

I worked hard all day and danced the nights at the AD LIB CLUB with JOHN LENNON and the other Beatles.

Now I am an interior designer and one of my clients is TOM CRUISE. My work takes me to far flung destinations.

BUT I am also a publisher. I publish interior design books called SKETCHBOOKS…..so you see although my name is only WENDY I’ve been around so here are some of my gossips from the past ..enjoy!

PS. Let me tell you that with each change of career I change my surname…even I forget which name goes with what!
