Canadian writer, Valerie Francis, is a bestselling author of fiction for women and children. She's also a literary editor, podcaster, and story nerd so obsessed with the craft of storytelling that she's started an online book club featuring stories by, for and about women. Masquerade is a love story designed for busy women on the go. At a dinner party one night, Valerie's friends (all avid readers and busy women) confessed that due to their hectic schedules, they didn't read as much as they used to. So, Valerie designed a book in 12 parts that could easily be read on a cell phone while they waited in dentists' offices or stood on the sidelines of soccer fields. Each part is about the length of a glass of wine or a commute home. Guilt-free moments of escape for readers in their otherwise chaotic days!
Nature Knights is a fantasy adventure for kids ages 9 and up. The idea came to her after seeing a photo of a turtle that had died because of plastic garbage it had ingested. She wondered what would happen if nature could fight back and that evening, she began to write the story.
Although Valerie writes across genre, there is a common thread in her work and that is, strong female characters. Women and girls of all ages have a particular perspective on the world and it's this point of view she's keen to explore.

Masquerade: The Complete Series
What would you do if you knew you wouldn’t get caught?
Unwind with this steamy love story. Originally published as a serial, this boxed set contains all 12 parts of the story (available in digital and print formats); each one is about the length of a glass of wine or a soak in the tub.
Isla Foster and Colin Jackman are strangers. Desperate to escape the daily grind of life, they each accept an anonymous invitation to a masquerade ball — one of the most prestigious events in New York City. There they are given lavish costumes, false identities, and an opportunity to take part in a seductive game.
If they accept, using the aliases Grace and Marlowe, they’ll meet each month for a year in a series of secret rendezvous, consequence free. No one will ever know where they go or what they do, as long as they follow three simple rules:
1. they must never know the other’s identity
2. they must only meet at the prearranged times and places
3. they must not fall in love
What could possibly go wrong?
Nature Knights: Crossing the Rubicon
A girl with a mission. A boy with a secret. A clock that's running out.
A plague known as the Blue Death is sweeping throughout Avalon. Clancy Donovan's sister has died, and now her brother is sick too. In a desperate attempt to save him, Clancy risks everything — including her own life — and defies her Queen to enter enemy territory in search of a cure. There she meets Eric Archer whose brother is also sick. Convinced Clancy knows more about the disease than she's letting on, Eric follows her back to Avalon bringing his cousin (John Shanley) and his best friend (Audrey Eden) with him. The four set out togther on a quest to find a cure for the Blue Death, but they have only three days.
In this race against time, they dare not let the clock run out.
