Sue Tort has been a writer for nearly twenty years. She has just written her first crime novel which took her far longer than she anticipated! She wanted to produce a cosy crime novel that of course includes murder but that also includes themes of solitude, friendship and her love of animals. Sue tends to keep descriptions of physical violence to a minimum as she focuses on the mystery and the implications of a death on the people around a victim. She also writes non-fiction and satire.
Sue lives in the East of England where her crime novel is set. She loves animals, her garden and generally being outdoors in nature. The photo is of her 'wild ice skating' over the Fens where her novel is set.
Sue has a habit of buying random musical instruments at auction in the hope that one day she will have the patience to sit down and learn to play each and every one of them to a high standard!

Witness a Killing
Jude Mumford has left his life as a D.I. behind in North London and moved to the Fenland village of Eaststowe to become a tennis coach.
It was all going so well until, one morning while out walking with his trusted Saint Bernard dog, Spud, they find a body.
When Jude is told how the victim died, he feels overcome with guilt and in an effort to ease his conscience he feels duty bound to investigate.
But his neighbours have their own ideas about how to find the killer.
As Jude forges new friendships and gets to know the locals and what drives their community, he risks his life to bring the suspect to justice.
But has he got it right?
A cosy mystery about friendship, a love of animals, human solitude, loneliness and of course murder.
