I’m Stuart James. I write (and occasionally illustrate) picture books for children. From pillow-gripping epics to hair-raising royal catastrophes, I aim to create stories grown ups can enjoy reading to little ones, the kind I liked to read to my daughter. A bit of depth, a touch of rhythm and a sprinkle of humour.

My 'day job' is as a graphic designer, but with a few books already published on Amazon, writing has become a hobby which has got a bit out of hand. I’m very happy to be a part of Alli and to learn from the wealth of resources and experience here. And I’ll try and share any knowledge or insight I gain along the way!

A Christmas Pickle

A heart-warming, cosy Christmas read with a gentle sprinkling of humour to delight the whole family.

George lived alone. And in recent years, Christmas had just seemed to pass him by. But this Christmas, he receives a call from an old friend (none other than Father Christmas himself!) asking for help to get him out of a ‘bit of a pickle.’ George finds himself doing a very special job in the local department store, where he meets a young girl called Beth, and he is reminded of how wonderful Christmas can be.
