Phill Featherstone was born and brought up in West Yorkshire, England. He worked as an educator before starting, with his wife, a company publishing educational materials. It was not until he retired from this that he found enough time to fulfil his long-held ambition to write novels.
His first, Paradise Girl, came out in 2017. It’s the opening book in the REBOOT series, which tells the story of a worldwide pandemic, how some unscrupulous individuals and organisations try to profit from the chaos, and the efforts of a group of (mostly) young people to prevent them. The second book, Aftershocks, appeared in 2019 and the series concluded with Jericho Rose in May 2020.
The God Jar was published in 2019. The action takes place partly in the present day and partly in Tudor times, and tells the story of a talismanic object with mysterious powers.
What Dreams We Had, Phill’s fifth novel, begins with a group of young people on the verge of leaving school. They are in a band which plays at the school prom. It turns out to be a disaster but they’re given another chance. When they do play again a celebrity hears them and they receive an amazing invitation to perform at his wedding. All their expenses will be paid and they will live in luxury. Too good to be true? There's only one way they can find out, and in the process of doing so they also rediscover themselves and each other.
I Know What You're Thinking was published in 2022. The two main characters, Beth and Cameron meet when they're children. As they grow up they realise that they have an amazing gift: each can make contact with the mind of the other. A criminal organisation is targeting young people as organ donors for wealthy clients. They seize Cameron. If they operate on him it will mean his death. The question is, can Beth use her power not only to find where Cameron has been taken, but also to save him? And if she can, what price must they both pay?
Phill has also written a book of short stories, Undiscovered Countries, which is available free to those on his mailing list.
Phill's books have won numerous awards. They were finalists in the Wishing Shelf Awards in 2017, 2018 and 2019. Paradise Girl, Aftershocks and What Dreams We Had have won Indie BRAG Medallions. Paradise Girl, Aftershocks, The God Jar and What Dreams We Had have won Chill With a Book Awards. Jericho Rose won a Wishing Shelf Red Ribbon Award. Paradise Girl, What Dreams We Had and The God Jar have been finalists in the Page Turner Awards.
All the above are available as ebooks or paperbacks.
Phill has also co-written several books on education. He is a member of The Society of Authors, The Alliance of Independent Authors, Promoting Yorkshire Authors, and The British Library.

Paradise Girl - the diaries

Book 1 of the REBOOT series.
Kerryl, a lively teenager, finds herself alone when everyone else is victim of a fatal virus. Her isolation affects her mental health and she imagines that someone else is there - Adam, a good-looking boy who is stalking her. Adam becomes increasingly real to her, until she convinces herself she is getting messages from him. She sets out to meet him for what she is sure will be a romantic encounter, not realising the forces that are directing her.

“The truth is blurred in this captivating psychological thriller, which saves its final surprise until the very end.”

Aftershocks - the journey

Book 2 in the REBOOT series.
17-year-old Lander Shaw embarks on a complex and demanding journey in his search for the truth about the deadly virus that has ravaged the country.
His quest brings danger, suspense, and emotional challenges, including imprisonment and slavery. His encounter with the mysterious Magda adds another layer of intrigue and complexity, as she seems to have plans of her own and knows more about Lander than he realises.
When Lander returns home and discovers that his twin sister has been the victim of a sinister experiment, the stakes become even higher. Confronting those responsible will be a difficult and risky task, and the choice he has to make will have far-reaching consequences for everyone involved.

"A compelling and exciting story with plenty of twists and turns, making for a gripping and engaging read."
