It’s 2011, riots are simmering in the heart out of North London as the UK’s first, and only, Hasidic detective, hunts the killers of young Muslim women. As events cascade out of control, and the investigation becomes ever more complex and global in nature, the importance of the victims seems to diminish – to everyone, that is, except Goldberg. Torn between duty, religion and two powerful women, his chaotic and dysfunctional life spirals out of control, yet he remains implacably dedicated to the Lurianic concept of tikkun olam – repair the world – a heavy burden indeed for this deeply flawed and conflicted individual.
