Larry Feign is an award-winning artist and writer based in Portugal. After buying back thepublication rights to his books from Macmillan Publishers, he began self-publishing in1991, including annual cartoon collections and original books of humour. In 1994 (pre-Amazon, pre-ebooks) he became one of the first indie authors worldwide to sell books on this strange new thing called the "World Wide Web".

In the meantime he has also worked in animation, directing cartoons for Walt Disney Television, Cartoon Network, and independent productions. Today he writes and independently publishes full-time, most recently a series of children's books under the pen name MD Whalen.
