Almanac 2023 from Candlestick Press

My poem "Samoa, October" won a competition to feature in the Almanac 2023 from Candlestick Press. It’s placed on a page facing D.H. Lawrence, which was a wonderful surprise as Bert has been a good friend for many years. The Almanac 2023 gives equal space to new poets and established names, each with something memorable and evocative to say about a particular month. It's a collection you can return to for years to come. It comes with a presentation envelope, bookmark and sticker so you can send poetry instead of a card.

Winter Long, Summer Short from The Hedgehog Poetry Press

"Winter Long, Summer Short" includes atmospheric Christmas poems, a comic New Year poem, some winter haiku, and one little summer poem at the end. You could send it instead of a Christmas card. Who do you know who could use some help appreciating the darker months? Whether you love winter or struggle with the cold, these poems will keep you company and help you mark the changing seasons.

Selections from the Mongolian Death Worm Poems from The Hedgehog Poetry Press

The Mongolian Death Worm is a cryptozoological creature which has fascinated me since I first read about its possible existence in my teens. Some poems are playful and slightly vicious (it’s not called the Death Worm for nothing), but there's some heartfelt eco-poetry too. I also squeezed in Dolly Parton and Oprah, and if you’re wondering what they have to do with a huge red killer worm, the answer’s in the Stickleback.

Meet Us and Eat Us: Food plants from around the world

'Meet Us and Eat Us: Food plants from around the world' is a book of poetry, prose, and fine art photography introducing a selection of 90 food plants. It explores them in the context of their family relationships, history of use, geographical origin, their role in culture and mythology, and the journeys they take to reach our plates.

The book gives food plants a voice and agency, to encourage readers and cooks across a wide age range to actively engage in and take responsibility for their everyday food choices. 'Meet Us and Eat Us' aims to stimulate thought, discussion and appetite through imaginative, playful and scientifically rigorous exploration.

Illustrated hardback, 256 pages, 73 full page colour illustrations + map. Printed in the UK on FSC paper with carbon balanced print.
