Author of Whispers on the Wind, a countryside memoir penned after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s. My first indie publication was Dark Cheshire 1995, about the myths and legends of Cheshire.

I’ve had a varied career; all within the creative sector. From professional photographer, makeup-artist and vocational assessor to jewellery designer and tutor.

During this period, a number of my articles were published in various specialist magazines. Experienced in organizing events and the benefits of creative activities especially when combined with nature.

Spending the last thirty years researching family/social history, more recently I am enjoying combining my love of old books with the art of bookbinding.

After the diagnosis, I was determined to devote my time to writing and using the natural world to combat the symptoms of Parkinson’s. So here I am!

Whispers on the Wind

Questioning her lifestyle after diagnosis with Parkinson's, Lesley searches for answers within the natural world.

Eighteen months after initially seeing a neurologist, and the stark reality of her 60th birthday fast approaching, she takes matters into her own hands. On this twelve-month journey of immersing herself within the fascinating world of the countryside, she shares her ups and downs in the form of a journal: weaving thoughts, memories and observations together with an avid interest of both natural and cultural history.
