Dinner for None - The Island Mysteries 4

By Lene Lauritsen Kjølner

Someone was lying in the bottom of the reservoir, but the woodpecker had long lost interest, even though the person had a head as red as his own...

When a body is discovered on the outdoor stage of Tønsberg's local theatre, it inevitably piques the curiosity of private investigator Olivia Henriksen. She tries to keep away from it, not wishing to get involved, so as to avoid making problems for her beloved, Torstein Krohn of the local constabulary.

Fortunately, she has other fish to fry - a desperate husband believes his wife is unfaithful, and Olivia steps into the breach in her usual gung-ho fashion, undertaking surveillance to discover the secret lover. Unfortunately, it soon appears that her case has several points in common with the murder case, and it becomes increasingly difficult to explain to Torstein why their professional paths keep crossing.

"Cosy crime de luxe...Kjolner's books are not bloodthirsty gorefests, The tone is subdued, tempered with humour and optimism." Torstein Buer, Demokraten
