My debut novel "The Man in the Shiny Shoes" is the first in the Island Mysteries series featuring Olivia Henriksen, private detective. It won the prestigious Maurits Hansen prize - New Blood - for best debut in 2014.

There are now nine books in the series, described as unique in a Norwegian context, but which have been compared to Alan Bradley, Agatha Christie, Alexander McCall Smith, Maria Lang ... among others.

This cosy crime series is set in the Norwegian archipelago, garnished with wit, humor and irony, and a touch of self-deprecation.

I also write feelgood-books and Christmas-novels featuring Petra, Sofie, Petronella and Kitty - all from the same area, fifteen titles published so far on the Norwegian market.

My husband, Per Fredrik, is a guitarist and songwriter, I have to sons and a cat, was born at Nøtterøy, but lives outside Tønsberg. I used to work in the aviation industry, but now work full time as an author and translator. And I'm proud to be the director of the renowned Fagervik publishing house!

The Man in the Shiny Shoes - The Island Mysteries 1

Welcome to the exciting and entertaining world of Olivia Henriksen. On one of her daily rambles with her dog on the idyllic island of Ankerholmen near Tønsberg, she stumbles across something that will turn her orderly world upside down: hanging from a rope on the veranda of the Nilsen family’s cabin, the body of big shot local advocate, Fridtjof Pedersen. The Police are soon involved, but Olivia can’t resist doing a bit of sleuthing on her own. The Occupancy Requirement has clearly lethally inflamed local passions on this usually peaceful island. Nobody escapes unscathed.

This is the second book in the series:
Olivia Henriksen is a private detective. Although she takes on all manner of cases, currently her work usually involves the surveillance of cheating spouses. But when the notorious politician Arne Gustavsen of the Socialist Left party is found dead at the water’s edge, near the Ankerholm Sailing Cub, she finds herself drawn into a murder case which involves environmental politics, cynical tycoons, and dirty dealings. Fortunately, Olivia possesses the necessary tenacity in her professional life – her love life, however, is less certain.

Dakota Red - The Island Mysteries 3

“Construction tycoon Birger Bergersen is discovered lying in a pool of his own blood on board a Dakota. More appropriate on a Boeing, or so I thought.”
Olivia is on her way home after a wonderful holiday in the sunny South of France when she learns of the murder, and as usual soon finds herself involved up to her neck. Not everyone believes that the rather scruffy Evert Karlsen of the Tønsberg constabulary will be capable of solving this mystery without assistance. The case proves to be more challenging than Olivia had anticipated, and it is hardly made easier by the fact that rumours circulating at the police station threaten her relationship with the gorgeous Torstein Krohn.

Dinner for None - The Island Mysteries 4

Someone was lying in the bottom of the reservoir, but the woodpecker had long lost interest, even though the person had a head as red as his own...

When a body is discovered on the outdoor stage of Tønsberg's local theatre, it inevitably piques the curiosity of private investigator Olivia Henriksen. She tries to keep away from it, not wishing to get involved, so as to avoid making problems for her beloved, Torstein Krohn of the local constabulary.

Fortunately, she has other fish to fry - a desperate husband believes his wife is unfaithful, and Olivia steps into the breach in her usual gung-ho fashion, undertaking surveillance to discover the secret lover. Unfortunately, it soon appears that her case has several points in common with the murder case, and it becomes increasingly difficult to explain to Torstein why their professional paths keep crossing.
