About Kip …
Just past my 77th birthday, I still drive, have most of my teeth and enough hair to comb – even though it’s white these days. Helen, my wife, lover, and life partner for the past three decades passed on three years ago. I still miss her deeply.
I’ve run high tech production facilities in Hong Kong and Haifa, put together nuclear weapons in Korea, worked in the computer software, welding technology, financial services, newspaper, and consulting industries – and enjoyed most of my working life.
Upon Helen’s death I sold our house in Tucson and moved east, to watch our grandchildren grow. COVID brought me to my daughter’s home, where I still live. I have a nice cabana to myself, just steps from the pool. Not a bad way to start the day.
After retiring from a research and forecasting job with a consultancy I helped launch, I’ve spent my working hours as a writer. Four of my books are available on Amazon (The Narrow Man, Buddies, OLDOGS, and Incident at Aviano), and a fifth (Gleaners) is just completed. Buddies won a Royal Palm award from the Florida Writers Association. It’s my hope to produce at least one book a year until God stops me. For more on the books, visit my website – www.kipcassino.com.
Here’s more to paint a picture: I’m a Vietnam veteran and a Villanova grad. Damage to one leg forces me to use a cane much of the time – though I guess I could still dance, if the need arose. Born in New York City, but I’ve lived around the nation and the world. Helen and I have two sons and three daughters, eight grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter (so far).
Finally, the most important thing to know about me is that I love to write.

Kip Cassino's books

The Narrow Man

It's 1986. Karl Thibault is a war hero. He's also a psychopath. His mission: to torture and kill his ex-wife's lovers and escape punishment with his son. His murderous run spans the nation. He must be stopped -- but how?

Buddies

Pauly and the Captain -- two vagrant, war-damaged veterans wandering from town to town. Where they stop, people die. Now, the F.B.I. is finally on their trail, and they're running as fast as they can. Will they evade the net that's been cast to catch them? One of them is a serial killer ... which one is it?

OLDOGS

A horrifying plot unfolds in central Asia, moves quickly to Cyprus, then on to Colombia -- finally reaching the beaches of Cancun and Miami.
In the meantime, budget cuts and burgeoning world hot spots force the CIA to consider requests from older volunteers to help fill gaps in the agency's worldwide coverage.
Who are these volunteers? Can they stop a conspiracy cleverly designed to murder cities?

Incident at Aviano: The Story of a Very Brave Man

In November 1965, a young alert pilot inadvertently activates a nuclear weapon. The weapon is mounted under his jet, just off the tarmac of Aviano Air Base's flight line in northern Italy. The next twenty-four hours pit Lieutenant Colonel Dan Cassino and his team of specialists against a powerful adversary: a bomb that can kill and injure thousands, devastate the countryside around them, and possibly destroy the NATO alliance. Based on true events.
