Harry Fisher has published three books starring DI Mel (Melissa) Cooper, all set in his native Leith, the port for Edinburgh. There’s a fourth book on the way (due 2024).
"Way Beyond A Lie" is a taut psychological thriller set in Edinburgh and Prague, involving identity theft and cybercrime. In a Kindle promotion during October 2022, it was downloaded 38,000 times in five days and reached #1 in the Kindle Free Chart – Worldwide!
In "Be Sure Your Sins" six people suffer six events that destroy their lives. Oh, and there’s a serial blackmailer in there too.
And in "Yes, I Killed Her" a husband gets away with murder, so why isn’t that enough? Kindle Bestselling Author, James Oswald, read it and said: “I’d recommend this to anyone”. And in January 2023, "Yes, I Killed Her" was awarded Crime Book of the Year 2022 by the now sadly defunct Chill With A Book awards, run by the wonderful Pauline Barclay in support of Indie authors and publishers.

#4 in the DI Mel Cooper series will be “48 Hours, Then She Dies” – linking the present-day abduction of a nineteen-year-old woman to the unsolved murder of a grandfather back in 1966. The kidnapper states his demands: “Reopen the investigation into my grandfather’s murder and solve it within 48 hours. Or Natasha dies”.
Harry lives in Aberdeen with his wife, Shiona, and their ginger hound. They love travel, the outdoors, wine and food – and preferably combined.
