A Woman of Valor

Rookie cop Valorie Dawes fights racism and sexism in her hometown police department as she pursues a savage sex offender - and confronts her own #metoo past.

For Valorie Dawes, #metoo means #fightback.

Rookie policewoman Valorie Dawes has a mission: take men like Richard Harkins, a serial child molester, off the streets of her small hometown of Clayton, CT—for good. Things start off well as Val's trusted senior partner and mentor, Gil, shows her the ropes and helps her survive the nastiness they encounter on the streets–and in the chauvinistic office politics at the precinct.

Despite Gil's support, Val becomes increasingly isolated within the department and vilified in the public eye as reckless and incompetent. In response, she devotes all of her time and energy to chasing Harkins, but he proves to be both elusive and cruel, continuing to victimize young girls and pressing his threats closer and closer to Val's own inner circle.

Can Valorie overcome the trauma she suffered as a child and stop Harkins from hurting others like her—or will her bottled-up anger lead her to take reckless risks that put the people she loves in greater danger?

Mother of Valor

Rookie Cop Valorie Dawes must stop an imminent violent attack by a ruthless, cunning extremist group. Standing in her way is the sudden return of a person she barely knows: her mother.

As part of a sting operation, rookie cop Val Dawes uncovers a national sex trafficking ring operating out of Clayton with ties to a violent right-wing splinter group. Her investigation reveals the group may be planning a violent attack in a matter of days.

Just when the investigation heats up, her estranged mother, who left without a trace a decade before, suddenly reappears on the scene, with a nine-year-old brother Val never knew she had.

As the group's violent plans draw near, Val tries to safeguard her family, leading to shocking discoveries about why her mother returned—and why she left in the first place.

Can Val keep her community safe without destroying her family?

In Search of Valor

An international kidnapping ring took her friend's daughter. Now they know Val is helping her–and they'll stop at nothing to eliminate her as a threat.

At a young age, Valorie Dawes vowed to avenge the death of her uncle, a policeman killed in the line of duty, by following in his footsteps. During her first month at college, the mysterious disappearance of a close friend's child drags her into the role of crimefighter much earlier than planned.

But Val's initial attempts to help lead to mistrust and recrimination. Self-doubts escalate, not only about Val's future as a cop, but over her ability to make and sustain the trust of a friend.

Anxious to prove herself worthy on both counts, Val puts her own life on the line--and discovers that the kidnappers will stop at nothing to get rid of obstacles like her.

A Better Part ofValor

The Shoeless Schoolgirl Slayer has remained a step ahead of the Clayton, CT police for months. All of his victims drowned. All were found barefoot. And all bear the same strange, fresh tattoo.

Then rookie cop Val Dawes notices patterns that eluded the department's more traditional senior detectives. Following her intuition, she discovers clues that convince her she's closing in.

But is she? Or is the clever and elusive Slayer laying a trap to make Val the next victim?
