Recovery Journal: Write Your Way Out of Toxic Relationships

By Eliza Osborn

☠️ Do you wonder if you're in a toxic relationship? ☠️

These can be with romantic interests, family members, co-workers, or even adult "friends."

If you've ever been in a relationship that you suspect or know was toxic or outright abusive, it's probably left some deep wounds. If you question your own mind and memories, if you blame yourself for another's actions, or if you have trouble trusting yourself and others, this journal is for you.

This journal provides a very basic space in which you can process your interactions -- both past and present. What's it lacking? Well, you'll find:

No judgment.
No "dig deep" prompts.
No need for your responses to look "pretty."
The 12 prompts cover your basic reactions and conditions of each encounter with a toxic person. There are 44 sets of these same 12 questions, so that you can look back over the encounters and find patterns and create strategies for the future.

This is helpful if you are in a situation where you are No Contact or wish to be No Contact / Low Contact with someone who repeatedly violates your sense of self-worth and pushes or ignores your boundaries.

The journal includes a glossary of terminology used when dealing with narcissistic and toxic people.

This journal is not a replacement for professional counseling or therapy but is a great tool for use alongside guided work, and useful to help those navigating their way through lesser conflicts, such as poor family relationships and "frenemies."

From the Author:

Having been through several toxic relationships in the past, I began to see patterns through the journaling process. By writing down not only my emotional responses, but the facts of each encounter, I was able to begin healing. My hope is that the prompts will help others record their experiences so they can regain trust in themselves. I’ve found it’s especially important to write down the facts in relationships where an abuser is gaslighting his or her victim.
