Derek Hammersley graduated from Warwick University in 1968 with
an honour’s degree in history and politics. He went on to qualify as a chartered.
accountant with an international firm in the City of London and subsequently held
senior positions with major international accounting firms in Germany. From 1983
he held directorships in major German public companies in Europe and
throughout much of Asia.

With extensive business experience within the UK and internationally,
after retirement Derek took the role of Chair of the European Movement
Scotland, from 2103 to 2017
