John River is a gifted young man who joined the US military at sixteen and progressed to the top of his profession. A benevolent psychopath, River is a natural-born killer with unique martial arts skills, a man who has no compunction about committing violence of all types. He feels no guilt or compassion. However, he has been developing a code of protection that he extends to anyone he chooses. Fate will now call upon River's code of protection in a series of missions to save those who would be lost without him.

River stumbles into a trafficking ring smuggling Chinese children across Asia. When a friend is killed, and his daughter kidnapped then River's mission becomes clear: save the children at all costs.
