The Globalisation of God: Celtic Christianity's Nemesis
By Dara Molloy
A look at history, tracing the globalisation of belief in God from the time of Moses to the present day. That process led to a gradual worldwide push towards uniformity and homogeneity. It became the movement we call globalisation today.
In this process, diversity in belief systems, spiritualities and indigenous cultures was eradicated. This included the unique expression of Christianity found in the Celtic lands of Europe. The book uses the story of the demise of Celtic Christianity as an illustration of what happened worldwide.
The thesis of this book is that the globalisation we know today is rooted in the monotheist belief system. Christianity created its template. The bad fruits of this worldwide process of homogenisation are evident in the current climate and biodiversity crises.
