Colin Sole writes thrillers. They’re different, with abstract concepts: your friend’s wife is a misandrist inclined to violence, your inability to age is dangerous not wonderful, and what if you’d made a difference choice for your future?

Colin’s experience in the army and as a helicopter pilot and aviation safety adviser has taken him all over the world. Hence his books include travel to exotic destinations of which he has first-hand knowledge.

He likes dogs and horses – they’re honest.

Scott's Choice

Book 1 of the Scott Trilogy.

You choose a conventional life and it’s safe – or is it? But what if, in another life, you sleep with a psychopath?

Cuthbert (Cuff) Jonathan Scott is an innate adrenalin junkie, but he's been brainwashed to keep safe for prosperity. Torn by choice, he becomes two persona, each following a different route.

When Jonathan follows his instincts, he takes life’s challenges head-on through travel.

Cuff opts for a stable path to wealth, but his suppressed compulsion for adventure is the same as his alter ego's, and he can’t avoid putting himself in danger.

When his mortal enemy, Barry Castle, gets out of the jail where Scott’s testimony put him, he’s intent on revenge. Ever-present, Castle is a threat in the lives of both protagonists.

One finds love, the other loses it. But both face terrible dangers along the way.

Scott’s Choice is the first in a trilogy of thrillers which follows two separate yet intertwined personas of a single man. Can you make a success of life by denying your instincts? Choices have consequences.

Nature's Justice

Book 2 of the Scott Trilogy.

A walk in the wild is tranquility itself. But what if your peace is shattered by gunfire – and you are a witness?

Fresh from their exploits in South America (Scott’s Choice), Jonathan and Gudrun begin their research for an adventurous expedition in Southern Africa. Shocked by a horrific event, they learn who is behind the evil trade in wildlife.

Mr Poh is a very dangerous customer, and he knows who they are. But Gudrun’s blood is boiling. She wants to fight and her actions are extreme, even for Jonathan.

Are they hunting Poh, or are they his prey? Through city and bush for a thousand kilometres north to the Victoria Falls, they accumulate more evidence against him, but he’s right behind them, and his tentacles are far reaching.

At stake are their lives. Will Gudrun’s recklessness be the end of them? Can Jonathan keep her in check? Will their relationship survive the stress?

The Pilot

Book 3 of the Scott Trilogy.

At last life is moving in the direction you want. What if your enemies cut your steering?

Searching for stability in his hitherto turbulent life (Scott’s Choice), Cuff Scott emerges from anonymity to become a flying instructor.

Imogen, his own student, suspects him of stalking her. Cuff witnesses someone flying illegal immigrants into the country at night. In his efforts to identify the smuggler, his friend, Martin, is captured and may be murdered.

There is a stalker to identify and a pilot to catch. Will Cuff ever be able to experience a normal life when risks seem to seek him out and invite him to join their game? Perhaps he’s heading in the wrong direction. Maybe he should change course.

Thirty-Four

You see the fear in her eyes, the pleading. Would you abandon her to a life of abuse to save more innocent children?

Ostensibly, Andrew Duncan is a fortunate, intelligent young man, but no one realises he’s actually much, much older. Big Pharma knows, though, and they will stop at nothing to learn his secret, because it will lead to massive profits.

While Andrew evades the tentacles of the giant corporation, he’s framed for the savage murder of a reporter. But who really did it – the pharmaceutical company or the child trafficking gang the journalist was probing? To prove his innocence, Andrew assumes the reporter’s investigation. But when he spots two of the victims, he’s forced into making a critical decision.

Andrew must find the assassin and expose the depraved gang. But the police are looking for him, Big Pharma is after him and a pair of little girls depend on him.

Even worse, the assassin is closing in.

RUNNING FOREVER

Andrew Duncan was ten – the murder took place a foot away.

Andrew has a condition. He’s been thirty-four for fifty-one years, and Big Pharma wants to know why – he’s worth millions to them. His escape from their relentless pursuit finds him in the eastern Congo, a battleground of warring factions and a hub for conflict minerals and wildlife trafficking.

Jacques Mertens is the kingpin of this abhorrent trade. Andrew is compelled to fight it and halt the suffering of countless wild animals, but Mertens will kill to protect his business.

Throughout, the spectre of Big Pharma looms over Andrew and his friend Kirsten, far away in England. Somehow, Andrew must protect her while safeguarding his own future, yet still fulfil a child’s promise.

Running Forever is the second thrilling instalment after Thirty-Four in Andrew Duncan’s very odd life.
