Imagine
1997 - Olive Park, California - the bodies of three children are found buried in shallow graves. The most intensive investigation in California history fails to find any trace of the killer and the case goes cold.

15 years later, veteran detectives Stan Wyld and Jake Steiner's newly formed Ongoing Investigation Division, is tested with its very first case, the Olive Park Murders.
And they have only three clues with which to work

Abandoned graves in a sunlit clearing...

A clown's picture in a black frame...

Two quarters clutched in a dead child's hand...

And that's all, until their new I.T. expert, young and ambitious Mallory Dimante, discovers the one chilling piece of evidence-

a freshly knotted rope-

that proves Olive Park is no longer just a cold case.

The truth is much worse, because the child killer of Olive Park has never stopped and has already chosen its next victim. The race by Wyld, Steiner and Dimante to save her, ends in a page-turning climax deep in the moonlit woods of Olive Park.

CRIMSON PARK

Part riveting police thriller, part spellbinding mystery, CRIMSON PARK is a cleverly crafted, must-read, tale of ruthless revenge and retribution. Rife with stolen identities, two-faced witnesses, and headless torsos, nothing is as it seems in the second novel of C.J. Booth’s Park series.
Following their spectacular success in solving California’s worst serial killer case, a case that had languished unsolved for 15 years, Sacramento’s newly formed cold-case division detectives - Stan Wyld and Jake Steiner with I.T. expert Mallory Dimante - find themselves the toast of the town. Anxious to move on from the rampant publicity, they take on a simple missing person case.
But their search for missing Hollywood film director James Marston pitches them headlong back into the malevolent world of serial killer Ruby Everheart - and into the lives of the killer’s last intended victims, 14 year old Michael and his younger sister Jessie Cooper – two kids who unknowingly possess a secret that will ensnare everyone in a deadly game of cat and mouse with an evil far worse than Ruby Everheart.

Angel Park

ANGEL PARK, the final book of C.J. Booth’s Park trilogy, is an edgy thrill ride to a heart-rending end that no one will see coming.
Detectives Stan Wyld, Jake Steiner and Mallory Dimante struggle to unravel the mystery of the murder and dismemberment of Hollywood film director James Marston but all they find are more mysteries…
Why has Anna Chase, an eleven-year-old middle-schooler living in a small town in New Jersey, seemingly partnered with Ilsa Pokovich, a 50 year-old California felon, to commit murder…
Why has the original detective on the Olive Park case remained quiet all these years…
And why does the answer to everything seem to lie in a stuffed bear rescued from the burned-out trailer of serial killer Ruby Everheart.
What Wyld, Steiner and Dimante find propels them back into a treacherous and dark past. It shakes what they think they know about who they can trust and who they believe. And it forces them into a lethal showdown, protecting Michael and Jessie Cooper…and themselves, from Ruby Everheart’s terrifying teacher.
Angel Park crackles with insistent, heart-stomping energy as it plummets toward a conclusion that will exact a devastating human toll on one of the three detectives of Sacramento, California’s cold case division. It is Wyld, Steiner and Dimante’s ultimate test, for the depravity of serial killer Ruby Everheart pales against the evil they must now confront.

The Silver Moon and the Evening Tide

The Silver Moon and the Evening Tide (A Collection of Short Stories) by C.J. Booth with Elizabeth Booth is a mixture of eclectic themes; revenge, betrayal, familial bonds, crime, death, domestic abuse and much more. Featuring 25 stories-including the short ones that Booth deemed as “almost tone poems”-“You Never Call, You Never Write” starts the collection. It’s about a famous Hollywood actress who’s confronted by someone from her past. It’s nonsensical but entertaining. After all, it’s Hollywood. “A House On Fire” is a story of a wife who found out that her house has a dark secret. It’s a chilling tale that I would love to see come alive visually. “Number 5” is my favorite; a surprisingly funny macabre story about a flower seller.

Elizabeth Booth’s writing makes its first appearance in the collection with “How Much Is A Penny Worth?”, a poignant piece about the bond between a father and a daughter. Her second piece, “Theatre Masks”, also focuses on family relationships and life itself. The last story, “The Silver Moon and the Evening Tide”, which also is the title of the collection, is a romantic piece about two lovers’ first touch. The strength of C.J. and Elizabeth Booth's writing is the ability to narrate while providing just enough context so that the reader can interpret the meaning of the stories through their own perspective. Some can be metaphorical and literal at the same time, which makes the stories never seem too short to achieve their intended message. Simply put, this is a wonderfully diverse, thought-provoking collection that one can read again and again.

Girl Number Four

GIRL NUMBER FOUR, the first in the Diamond & Stone Mystery series, is a suspense-filled, page-ripping gem of a thriller

17-year-old Alison Adams never saw the person who threw the acid.
Prom night.
Alison Adams zipped herself into her prom dress and was finishing the final touch up on her salon-coiffed French wave when she heard her date’s knock.
Checking herself in the floor length mirror, she smiled and opened the door.
As her mother had long promised, she would remember this night… forever.
Ten years later.
A scarred and disfigured Alison Adams begs Private Investigators Mallory Dimante and Jake Steiner to solve the seemingly unsolvable cold case. Claiming her life has been ‘gratefully reborn’, she only wants to find and forgive the person responsible.
Sympathetic but wary, Dimante and Steiner reluctantly agree.
However, as their investigation propels them back to that very prom night and the backstabbing turmoil of high school, they find their hot looking senior from Wayland High, had been a wickedly ‘busy’ girl.
In fact, Dimante and Steiner’s investigation stirs the pot of high school jealousy once again, exposing all who hated her and all who had an illicit relationship with her. Until it finally puts Alison Adams face to face with the original perpetrator.
The only certainty when the two meet is that there will be one more brimming vial, in the hand of one not quite sane.
Either someone is intent on finishing what they started ten years ago…
…or someone is determined to exact revenge for a life ruined.
Award-Winning author, C.J. Booth’s mystery thriller sizzles with skin-searing tension and explodes in a harrowing and unforgettable ending.
