Chris Spence is a writer and environmentalist. Raised on the doorstep of the Yorkshire dales in England, Chris moved as a teenager to New Zealand. Starting his professional career as a political speechwriter and journalist in Wellington, he spent the next two decades in senior roles in London, New York, and San Francisco, working for organizations committed to conservation, the environment, and human health (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Spence_(journalist).
In 2018, Chris stepped back from full-time work to lean into fatherhood and return to writing. He now juggles consulting and writing with the demands of making school lunches and checking the kids have completed their homework!
An award-winning writer, Chris has authored or co-authored several books, including Global Warming: Personal Solutions for a Healthy Planet (Palgrave, 2005) and Rock Happy, his first novel (2021). He holds postgraduate qualifications from Victoria University (New Zealand) and Georgetown University (USA). He recently moved to Dublin where he lives with his wife Nicole and three energetic children.
