Lily of the Valley

As the second world war rages and the bombs drop on London Lily, a serious sad person meets Ted and Winnie during her work as a nurse. They are drawn to her and befriend her wanting to see a real smile light up her face with their strong sense of humour. She finds comfort with them as she is alone except for her other friend, a neighbour who has problems of her own. Lily is worried about her husband in the RAF who she hasn't heard from for a while. She overhears a sinister conversation between two porters at the hospital. One of them sees her and threatens her to stay out of it.
