Aria & Liam: The Coded Papyrus
By Alizee Monsarrat
They’re just kids! How can they possibly save an entire civilization, foil their enemies, outsmart gods, and keep from strangling each other?
Aria’s best (but totally boring) friend, Liam, is not the greatest of assets when stuck in a jam. Unlike her, he hates school, despises being without his phone, and cowers in fear at the thought of causing his mother any panic. Aria? She believes life was meant to be lived to the fullest—even if it means breaking a few rules.
This time, however, Aria might have taken things a bit too far with her curiosity and rule-breaking.
Because of her, they end up alone and stranded in a 3,000-year-old kingdom. Well, not quite alone—Aria and Liam make friends with Asim, a local boy on a secret mission and Atlas, an all-too-wise donkey.
Between sea voyages, high-speed chases across the desert, and life-or-death riddles, Aria, Liam, and Asim get to see the glory of Egypt while they fulfill their mission. It’s like a vacation!
But things quickly turn serious. Even though he doesn’t know it yet, pharaoh Ramesses II needs them as he has never needed anyone before. The fate of his kingdom is in their hands—thousands of lives could be lost, and they are running out of time.
Aria and Liam’s adventure turns into a nightmare when they have to compete with dangerous gods and murder attempts, run from the law, and fend off attacks from divine creatures.
With sacrifices, worries, and frightening situations on their adventure, will Aria and Liam be in time to save Ramesses and his kingdom? And even if they do, how will they get back to their own time?
